FDR Private is an independent mediation provider of Family Dispute Resolution (FDR). Unless exempted, participation in FDR is mandatory for parenting disputes before going to Court. Our mediators (FDRPs) are former family lawyers now working exclusively in mediation. They are senior FDRPs with a background in law and the social sciences.

We provide an affordable alternative to the not-for-profits – which are known for long wait times and high staff turnover. We offer face-to-face mediations or a remote service through online platforms such as Microsoft Teams. We charge $90/hour per party and aim to improve access to justice by providing high quality, prompt and affordable FDR. We conduct mediations for parenting and property settlement disputes.

Working with and for the community to achieve a self sufficient, healthy Aboriginal Community, promoting social, economic and cultural pride. FIAAI provides a range of services on Flinders Island including: Primary Health and Aged Care, Housing, and more.

Women’s Legal Service Tasmania is a free community legal service funded by the Commonwealth Attorney General’s Department. We provide advice, information, representation, referral, education and from time to time we lobby for better laws for women. We are part of Women’s Legal Services Australia, a national network of community legal services specialising in women’s legal issues, and we are also a part of the National Association of Community Legal Centres (NACLC).

HIPPY is an early learning program which builds the connection between parents and children, improves self-esteem, provides free educational resources, and prepares youngsters for starting school. Tutors visit parents/caregivers at their home every week/second week to show them how to do the HIPPY activities with their child. Parents also meet regularly in a group to practice new activities, listen to guest speakers and participate in fun games that they can then try at home with their children.

Kids Helpline counsellors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Nothing is too big or too small to call us about. Children can chose to speak to a male or female counsellor and request to speak with the same counsellor if they decide to use the service more than once.

The fastest way to contact Kids Helpline is by calling on 1800 55 1800. Calls from mobile phones, landlines and payphones are free if you are calling from within Australia.

We also offer web and email counselling. These services can be accessed through our website, 7 days a week.

The Launceston Community Legal Centre (LCLC) is a not-for-profit incorporated association that provides free, non means tested legal advice and assistance to all members of the Tasmanian community. The LCLC consists of a small team of dedicated solicitors, advocates and administrative staff, providing services in the areas of general law, family law, employment law, welfare rights and disability discrimination. We also facilitate legal 'outreach' to rural, regional and remote communities and have a highly successful volunteer-based 'legal literacy' program. The aim of this program is to increase individual and community awareness and confidence around everyday legal issues by providing practical help with filling out forms, understanding documents, sorting out papers, dealing with authorities and generally protecting the rights of individuals.
