The Hobart Community Legal Service offers a range of services for separating and separated families in the 62 telephone area.
We provide information, and/or referral in matters of separation, property settlement, spousal maintenance, contact and residency and alternative dispute resolution as well as other general legal matters. We also provide referrals for mediation and counselling, including financial counselling.
These services are accessed through our Hobart Office through our Free Legal Information Clinics held every Monday and Wednesday evening,we ask that people arrive at 5.50pm. No appointment necessary.
Information and advice on most areas of law (apart from commercial law matters) is also provided at our Bridgewater Office between the hours of 9.30am and 12.30pm, Tuesday to Friday, please phone 6263 4755 for an appointment and at our Sorell Office, please phone 6265 1911 between 10am – 12pm Tuesday and Thursday or between 9.30am and 2pm Wednesday and Friday for an appointment.
We have a Child Support Solicitor who helps payee parents obtain Child Support Payments from payer parents. This service is means tested. We can also assist people experiencing difficulties with Centrelink. Please phone the Hobart Office, on 6223 2500 for an appointment.
