Baptcare provides a range services and programs for families, young people, children and individuals who need additional support owing to age, disability or mental health issues. Our aim is to strengthen people's capacity to live independently, to care for their children, and to participate in community life.

Integrated Family Support Services:

Baptcare is the lead agency for the Gateway and Integrated Family Support Service (IFSS) Alliance in the South West of Tasmania. The Alliance and other services providing IFSS to the South West region are working to improve the safety, wellbeing and health of children (aged 0 to 18), young people and their families.

Supporting Grandparents and other Carers:

Baptcare Gateway provides support for grandparents (or other relatives) who are caring for their grandchildren or younger relatives. The program links carers with existing services within their community and offers initial financial support.

Local Area Coordination:

Local Area Coordination (LAC) is a service that aims to achieve positive and quality outcomes for people with a disability aged up to 65 years. LAC is a targeted service that is made available to people on the basis of their assessed need, assisting people with disability to live independently in the community.

Baptcare provides LAC services to participants of the NDIS launch site in Tasmania. This pilot provides support and services to all 15 – 24yr old people with a disability who are deemed eligible

TYSS works collaboratively with young people aged between 10 - 18, family, service providers and/or community members by focusing on a range of individual needs for youths identified as having significant or multiple risk factors to increase connections, decrease the occurrence or risk of homelessness and improve health and wellbeing.

MIcare:

MIcare (pronounced my care) is a state-wide recovery-based program run by Baptcare, in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), which offers individualised packages of care to people with severe and sustained mental illness. MIcare provides an outreach support service which is person-centred, strengths-focused, time-limited, and seeks to improve the individuals overall wellbeing.
