Specialised Family Violence Service

Our specialised Family Violence Service offers a Whole-of-Family response to families where family violence has been identified as an issue. Individual assessments are offered to women, children and men. Following this initial assessment and where needs have been identified, individual counselling and group programmes are offered as appropriate. Family Violence and abuse affects whole families. It can include physical (pushing, hitting, slapping, smashing things), verbal (put-downs, name calling, shouting, threatening) and using power in unfair ways. Some of the effects of Family Violence can include fear, anger and shame as well as physical injury. The safety of women and children is very important to us.
