Anglicare is a member agency (agent) for NILS (No Interest Loan Scheme).
NILS provides no interest loans to Tasmanians who have a healthcare or pension card. Loans can assist with living expenses including the purchase of household appliances, car maintenance or registration, education costs or medical bills. It also now offers micro-business loans of up to $3000 to start up or boost a business.
NILS provides these loans without fees, charges and interest to ensure that concession card holders are able to pay back the loans at an affordable rate.
Any individual or family who is over the age of 18, has a current Pension or Health Care Card and has lived in the same place for at least 6 months is eligible for this service.
Face to face assistance is available in Devonport and Burnie. Workers also make regular visits to Deloraine, Smithton and in Tasmanian prisons.
