Uniting Tasmania
Northern Newpin Program
Newpin is a therapeutic program which provides emotional and practical support to families with at least one child under the age of six. It supports and empowers families to break the cycle of child neglect and abuse and to provide safe, nurturing environments for children, through early intervention in the life of the child. In the North, Newpin is delivered as a group, centre-based program, and combines an outreach program as well, which includes families living outside of the Greater Launceston area.
The Newpin centre is in Ravenswood and clients can access transport support in getting to and from the centre. Newpin team members work Monday to Friday from 9.00am - 4.30pm, with groups currently facilitated on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday and Thursday in school terms.
