The Men Engaging New Strategies (MENS) Program is designed for men who are wanting to change their abusive behavior toward their partners or ex-partners. The Program aims to help men learn new ways of behaving that are respectful and non-violent, and accept responsibility of their actions. Practitioners assess: risk to children; suicide/self-harm; and, family violence. The MENS program is part of the Safe at Home initiative, free to men and over arched by the premise of keeping women and children safe . The funding also enables Relationships Australia to deliver a free, three hour training session on Family Violence to community organizations and other service providers. Men can refer themselves to the program or can be referred by the court, police or other service providers by calling 1300 766 491
